Electrification of non-electrified telecom towers

Coordination and sharing of data with Ministry of Power, NITI AAYOG, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) and telecom industry is being done for electrification of non-electrified telecom towers under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY) scheme. The electrification is ensuring power supply to telecom tower and thereby reducing the diesel consumption at the BTS tower site. Significant progress has been achieved in electrification of non-electrified telecom towers of BSNL and other Telecom Service Providers.

Building Related Functions

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by DoT with CPWD on 09.10.2015 for planning and construction of New DoT Headquarter building as “Deposit Work” on total turnkey basis at CTS Compound, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi. The work is to be executed in two parts. Part-1: Engagement of Architectural Consultant for preparation of Architectural / structural drawing and preparation of DPR for the project. Part-2: Execution and Commissioning of the project after the approval of the DPR.
