    (a)   A Telephone Advisory Committee had been constituted in DoT and the function of TAC are as follows:

    1. TAC will work as interface between telephone consumers and BSNL/MTNL.
    2. Giving the public a confidence that their grievances are properly represented as well as redressed.
    3. Educate public/bring awareness among telephone consumers about the various services provided by BSNL/MTNL.
    4. To Suggest measures for efficiency.

    (b)   The Telecom Commission was set up by the Government of India with administrative and financial powers of the Government of India to deal with various aspects of Telecommunications. The Government vide Gazette notification dated 22.10.2018, has re-designated the 'Telecom Commission' as the 'Digital Communications Commission'.

    The Digital Communications Commission is responsible for:

    Formulating the policy of Department of Telecommunication for approval of the Government

    Preparing the budget for the Department of Telecommunication for each financial year and getting it approved by the Government.

    Implementation of Government’s policy in all matters concerning telecommunication.

    There is one CAG para on Spectrum Management and Monitoring in Department of Telecommunications is pending in our department which contains 31 sub paras.

    Out of 31 sub paras, 12 sub paras have been vetted by Audit and modified reply of 19 sub paras are under process at WPC Wing.

    18 Programmes to advance understanding of RTI   (Section 26)
    (i) Educational programmes

    Workshops/Trainings/programmes/webinars, as and when conducted, are regularly attended by CPIO or other officers/officials of the Department.

    (ii) Efforts to encourage public authority to participate in these programmes

    All CPIOs and support staff are regularly encouraged to participate in such educational programmes and their participation is also monitored.

    (iii) Training of CPIO/APIO

    Training of CPIO/APIO is done through the training programmes organized by NICF, NTIRIT, ISTM and other such institutes.
