Engagement with International Telecommunication Union (ITU)ITU is the specialized agency of the United Nations on Telecommunications. India has been a Memebr of ITU since 01.01.1869. ITU has a memebrship of 193 states apart from Membership from the Industry, Associations, Organizations and Academia. The ITU has three sectors viz. Standardization, Radio, Development. For Asia Pacific regional coordination, ITU has a regional office in Bangkok.India is also a Member in the current council. India is actively engaged in all the three sectors of ITU on different platforms.
