In recent times we have come accross some confusion related to mobile number. While customer wants to update mobile number to his accounts. While validating we have came across same mobile number belongs some one else.
But customer claims that mobile number belongs to him and said KYC provided to telecom operator in his name only.
We know un used mobile numbers will be blocked by Telecommunication operators like BSNL, VI, AIRTEL, JIO etc. And same number will be alloted as fresh.
Can customer get Mobile number allotment letter and can we like bankers/NBFC/FI can validate with Telecom operator.
Since as per KYC also , in recent times Mobile number has been linking to aadhar, DBT purposes etc.
If any validation is allowed that will be useful with OTP security.
It would not breach individual privacy.

In recent times we have seen leaks of Personal details in different platforms like social Media platforms like facebook, Linkdin, various online platforms. Date has been sold for telemarketing purposes. Even I have received calls related to credit card from Scheduled commercial banks, NBFCs, Small finance banks etc even they know my employer details.
