I, V.S.R.K.Sarma, joined as Deputy-Engineer-in-Charge, a Class A post, through UPSC IES selection, in Overseas Communications Service, a Government of India Department on 1-5-1980. The Department was later converted to Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited, a Central Government PSU, and we were absorbed into it. Later the management of VSNL was handed over to Private Management and still later the Company was renamed Tata Communications Limited.
I took voluntary retirement from the company on 29-2-2004, when it was still called VSNL. I wanted copies of specific documents from TCL, namely, Promotion orders, pay fixations, salary in December, 1989 and options given by me at time of absorption. TCL is unable to provide. Attached file containing their reply may be seen.
In this connection, I want to know where my Service Book and Personal file are kept, so that I can approach correct authority for the documents.
