Subject Request for information under Right to Information Act, 2005.
Dear Madam/Sir,
Please provide the following information with respect to the below
1. Under what provisions of Aircraft Act, 1934 & Rules or Regulations, directions or guidelines made thereunder, a telecommunication tower shall be provided with Aviation Warning Light (AWL).
2. What is the prescribed height Above Ground Level (AGL) wherein every telecommunication tower shall be provided & fixed with Aviation Warning Light (AWL)
3. Kindly confirm whether 40m height from the ground level is the prescribed height / threshold above which every telecommunication tower shall be provided & fixed with Aviation Warning Light (AWL.)
4. If the Answer to Query No.3 is Yes, kindly confirm whether height of telecommunication tower is the only criteria for mandatory provisioning with Aviation Warning Light (AWL) or the said telecommunication tower should also fall under an Aviation Zone i.e. it should be also falling within a minimum distance of an aviation zone then only fixing of Aviation Warning Light (AWL) is mandatory.
5. Kindly refer to the attached file named, Summary record of the Special SACFA meeting held on 12.2.1998. (Available in public domain) wherein at page10, broad guidelines in respect of maximum height of mast with reference to the distance from the airport reference point (ARP) which can be considered for permission(SACFA) is given. Kindly confirm whether the referred mast heights can also be considered for affixing of Aviation Warning Light (AWL) on the telecommunication towers. Whether the said guidelines still hold good or has been superseded, if so kindly provide a copy of the extant guidelines in this reference.
6. Kindly refer to the attached OM No.K 19013/13/2005 CFA Dated 30th October 2006 wherein the SACFA Clearance procedure has been simplified by implementing the 7KM/40M criteria for automatic clearance of sites meeting the said criteria. Kindly confirm whether the said criteria still holds good and whether the same is also applicable for mandatory affixing of Aviation Warning Light (AWL) on the telecommunication towers/Mast.
7. Kindly provide a copy of the existing Rules/ Regulations/ Guidelines/ SO/OM/ GSR laying down the criteria for compulsory affixing of Aviation Warning Light (AWL) on the telecommunication towers/Mast.
