I had retired from the Dept of Telecom in 1999. Throughout my service career I was posted at Siliguri, a non-CGHS area. After retirement I was in Siliguri. Recently I have shifted to Kolkata, a CGHS covered area. Thereby I want to opt for being registered with CGHS. Recently I had visited the Kolkata office of CGHS. There I was told that pensioners of the Telecom Dept are not eligible to get the CGHS facilities and as such I won't be able to be a member of the CGHS. Let me kindly be informed that whether I am at all be able to get membership of CGHS and get the facilities thereby.
